OMG Harambe, We as a Family only just got to see you at the zoo. Noooooooooooooo, you shouldn't have died this ridiculous death! My children are still crying! When we took our own children to see you, they did not leave our eyes for a second. As for the judgment call by zoo officials... well I and my family agree with
Dr. Yanez. Harambe has taught the whole world of ruthless MAN, a major spiritual lesson. And yes, of course MAN will forget all over again! But my family will NOT forget you, or your martyred lesson!

It is truly a tragedy! Jane Goodall said he was protecting the child. Unlike his parents! I wonder what will this child become in years to come? If he is a murderer or anything bad, it will have been a true loss to have killed a beautiful gorilla. I would have protected the gorilla, let his parents worry about the child! Only my opinion! Of course, the parents would have sued the zoo instead of removing their child when he said he wanted to go into the gorilla habitat. Such a loss.

When will MAN learn that he shares this gloriously beautiful planet with other life forms that GOD created? We can understand hunting for food. We cannot understand slaughtering innocent animals for sadistic fun or trophy heads. As for the parents who didn't care to protect the child, the courts will judge them. But in the end, GOD will mete out the universal judgments we all earn. Harambe, your death is a horrible sinful act and those responsible will eventually pay! Too bad the parents weren't in the gorilla's turf instead of the innocent child. Too bad they didn't protect their child. Too bad Harambe had to die. We pray he was murdered instantaneously and felt zero pain from the shooting! We hunt animals only for food, not for fun!

In light of what one person with a camera heard the discussion between the child and mother I'M GOING IN/NO YOU'RE NOT....I'M GOING IN/NO YOU'RE NOT! That kid wouldn't sit down for a week and would be grounded for the rest of the summer. Mom obviously had no control over her child who probably ALWAYS got his way.

I think people have maybe gone a little bonkers with death threats to the parents and all. but I do totally hold the mother responsible for not having any better control over her child. If he's this way now, what's he going to be like by the time he's a teen? I don't want to think! SBK in AZ

Is a gorilla's life more or less important than a human life? Would Harambe have hurt the child? Or, did he mean to rescue the boy? Gorilla stories of both sides to this question are publicly available. ANON
 

I respect your opinion, RubyNorma, but I feel the child was in danger, and his life was more important than Harambe's.

The zoo did the right thing; it was the only thing, IMHO, that they could do.
